exhibition of autobiographical work at the mk contemporary | 2006

drawing in milton keynes

Armed with sketch book and pens, I walked and cycled documenting the Uk's most notorious and successful shopping centre...Milton Keynes. As artist in residence I redrew my sketches big with watercolour and marker pens direct on to the White Wall gallery wall as hoards of Christmas shoppers passed on by, the exhibition space was 3m x 18m long and took a week to complete. My sketch book observations showing my return to the city where I lived and grew up in for 25 years. One of the biggest thrills of this project was hearing peoples verbal responses to seeing work being created live on the wall.
