'Conference of the Birds' Shadow Puppetry |

| With
a colleague (adept in the arcane art of acting), I went into
primary and secondary schools in the Leeds and Bradford area
to show classes how easy it is to turn cardboard, tape and sticks
into an epic Sufi poem. That's what I like about this artform,
when those materials go behind the screen they transform and
become characters. This was a large scale shadow screen with
enough room for six children and me manipulating the puppets
and scenery behind the scenes. |
